is anyone here familiar with Marine Corps lingo?
My dad uses this term that he says is from when he was in the Marines, he doesn't know how it's spelled, he's never seen it written.

It sounds like "skinner eenus" and he uses it like people use "what's-his-name."

Google hasn't yielded anything, can anyone help?

7. How old is your dad? Might help pinpoint the term
I have never heard that one, or am not getting it's meaning/use.

9. he's 83
he was in the service from 1940-45.

He uses it when he can't think of the person's name right away. It's become his cat's unoffial name, as in, "I've got to go get some food for Skinnereenus (sp?)."

8. Hmmm

I am not familiar with that one either. Maybe just the way I'm hearing it in my head, or maybe just forgot it due to passage of time.
