I liked them more with Sammy as well... 5150, OU812 and For Unlawful Carnal... were three of their best albums. 5150 being my favorite!

5. fair warning....I and II....women and children first......c'mon man.....

....how can you look yourself in the mirror and say those albums with hagar the horrible even hold a candle to daves albums....roths first solo album away from van halen, eat 'em and smile, was twice the rock album 5150 was......

you never heard hagar coming up with cool rap in the middle of the songs like...

"have you seen juniors grades???..."

or...

"i like the way the line runs up the back of her stocking, and i've always like those kind of high heels too....."

roth was a genius when it came to the songs...hagar was just another singer..

when they fired roth, they lost the soul of that band...they became just another hair band...allbeit a talented one, but just another hair band nonetheless.......

8. Well...

Roth didn't amount to much after he left the band... Cherone was a joke. Ugh. I did like the album 1984 - for obvious reasons. :)

I do think that replacing Roth with Sammy really changed the style of their music, and even the fan base. The style of songs (like "Dreams", "When It's Love" and "Love Walks In") were great.
