4. The classic Godfather Trilogy
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 09:24 PM by bigwillq
even Part III is still better than some of the shit they make 2-day.
Goodfellas runs a close second.
And of course Scarface, Donnie Brasco are in the mix.

7. Good Call
Scarface and Brasco are both winners! Any Johnny Depp movie automatically gets a couple of bonus points, though.

5. Goodfellas
it's the real deal. The Godfather was Peyton Place with marinara sauce in comparison.

Best mafia dialogue. ever. Fuggeddaboutit.

edit: Donnie Brasco is still yielding arrests and trials more than 20 years after the fact.

Here's one from a couple of weeks ago:

10. Godfather 1 (2 when I'm charitable)
3 sucks. On many nights I've stayed up thill 3 hrs before due at work to finish Godfather 1. Donnie Brasco will keep me up too. Goodfellas is another fine one.

But, they all pale in comparison to Godfather I.

24. The Godfather, followed by
Goodfellas and The Godfather II. Godfather III was a total piece of shite and shouldn't have been made.

27. The Godfather (1 & 2) for me...
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 10:06 PM by LowerManhattanite
So many classic scenes:

1.) Michael's brutal take down of McCluskey in the restaurant...so stark...and the way you could feel him summoning up his nerve...

2.) The best ass-kicking ever commited to cellulloid--Sonny's ill-fated in-the-street beatdown of his bum brudda-in-law. Never has brutality looked more righteous (and as a street "fight" it was dead on the mark---no style, vicious, quick and yes...funny to watch).

3.) I don't know why, but the scene near the end (of 2) when Kay comes to visit the kids and he slowly closes the door in her face just floors me. He's basically saying "I am shutting you out of this life...forever.

Diz-amn!
