1. On the air, but not on

the pathways of our lives. My son called me today at work to commiserate about the passing of Ray Charles. I've talked to him 2 or 3 times this week; we never mentioned Reagan at all. But he called immediately to share Ray Charles this afternoon. Knowing that he was interrupting my classroom, a taboo except for extreme circumstances.
