Poppy's 80th Birthday parachute jump: what do YOU wish him?
Snip:

Bold Oldie: Bush Sr Skydives At 80

(AP) In a sort of senior-citizen version of “Fear Factor”, former President George H. W. Bush plans to celebrate his 80th birthday by jumping out of a plane Sunday at 13,000 feet.

“A scary feeling,” Mr. Bush said in his usual pronoun-free style as he contemplated standing in the open door of the plane with a parachute on. “A funny feeling in your tummy or your knees.” Mr. Bush has made four parachute jumps in his life — three since leaving the White House more than a decade ago, including one on his 75th birthday.

“People say: `Why are you doing this, you nutty old man?”' Mr. Bush said. “I say: One, because I want to. It feels good. There's a thrill involved. And two: Just because you're 80 doesn't mean you're finished. It sends a message to a lot of people ... that old age is not a barrier.”

This jump will be much different from the first time Bush bailed out of a plane. That was in 1944, when the 20-year-old Navy pilot was shot down over the Pacific.

15. Tandem? don't think so:
"This is a very, very important thing to the president. This is a solo jump. There will be knights around him, but it is not a tandem jump," organiser Jim McGrath said.

3. Well, if the ripcord DOESN'T work....
that's two birds with one stone: sympathy for * while he gets rid of the old thug who, along with his vile mother's emotional brutalities, made him into this monster. poppy had better have someone he REALLY trusts to pack that 'chute, or SPLAT, and we've got another two weeks of maudlin repub whining.

7. this is very tempting...
I know what I would wish for if Dubya would be jumping in his place...

But since it is his dad, I'd wish him a safe landing.

10. I wish that this time he's not leaving the dudes in the plane to plummet
to their deaths (that's what happens when the pilot bails out)

11. Not doing two terms as Pres. makes the real person come out.
Carter gets the Peace Prize and Bush sells arms and jumps out of air planes.Interesting.

18. Well, I can see another thread being read...
on the air by some Repuke arse, "Showing how evil Demoncrats are".

Guys, I know you don't like him, heck, I don't like him, but he's a 80 year old man, and holds no position of power. I say, if he wants to jump out of a plane for his birthday, then I hope he has fun. In fact, given his age and all, all those kids of his in office must be stressful... I hope that in the future that his life is less stressful.

19. The landing impact on the bones of a 80yo can be harmful...
...therefore, I wish he lands on an open truck full of manure, to soften the impact.
