Poll question: "Just say No" (80s) vs. "Wait until you're Married" (00s): you decide!!
Only the repukes would think they could solve life's woes with snappy catch phrases. But who is fooling who? Did anyone suddenly quit doing drugs because they wanted to "Just Say No". Does anyone really believe we'll drop the rate of Teenage Pregnancy/Diseases/Etc with "Wait until you're Married"

Which Neo-conservative policy do you think was most affective??

1. Hmm....
I "just said yes" around the same age to both activities.
Then again, I grew up in the 80s, not now, and while drug ed was "just say no," sex ed was "we're supposed to say wait until you're married but we know damn well that's not going to happen so here's what a condom does."

8. I've read that. But getting a STD can cause cancer, too...
I don't know what the odds are for getting cancer from condoms versus getting cancer and other health problems from STDs:

http://www.medbroadcast.com/channel_health_features_details.asp?channel_id=1028&relation_id=295&health_feature_id=57&article_id=102

<snip>
Many STDs can lead to health problems later on if they are not found and treated. Being infected with HPV can increase a woman's risk of cervical cancer. Chlamydia can lead to infertility and long-term pain in women by damaging the Fallopian tubes, which are an important part of the reproductive system. HIV/AIDS eventually destroys the immune system, leading to an increased risk of infections, cancers, and death.
<snip>

People (unmarried or married) will always have sex. There is nothing those fundies can do about it. Even their teens will do it sooner or later. I'd rather have teens and adults to be informed about condom use than saying "don't do it" ... we all know that doesn't work.
