11. Not nearly as pretty though.
Even though an Xbox is basically a specialized PC in a box.

16. Yes, but...
When a new GTA game comes out, it's only on PS2. Like when San Andreas comes out in October for PS2, it probably won't be out on XBox for another year.

So nyah.:P

6. A PC...
with a 200GB hard drive, a 2.0 GHz or faster processor, 1GB RAM, and a high-end ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.

Video resolution and rendering blows away anything that a console connected to a television is capable of, configurability is much greater, and add-on mods craeted by members of the gaming community enhance the experience. For instance, for GTA3 and Vice City, on PC, you can replace ALL of the vehicles with models of actual cars, install whole new level and mission sets, edit the performance characteristics of all the vehicles...and modifications exist for most popular games on the PC.

10. Not to mention
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 12:53 PM by kgfnally
that with many first-person shooters on the PC, the gamer has the capability of actually creating whole new levels, monsters, weapons, and textures in from scratch with editors that these days usually ship right along with the game. Doom et al, Unreal, FarCry, Half Life, and others all allow this.

And you're right about rendering, and it'll likely always be that way because it's possible to upgrade the video card(s) on a PC. Thus, you can get just sick framerates and realism that's not possible on a console.

13. Gotta do the SNES.
Call me old fashioned, but running to the side in a 2D world is more my old guy speed...and 16 bit was the epitome of those days. I love the zelda/metroid/mario/street fighter/space megaforce/r-type/tetris games were the best. Keep your high res, first person fancy pants games. I've got a REAL game system stuck ...somewhere...in...my...closet...I swore I saw it her last week!

Genesis was also fun!

22. We have a PS2 and a GameCube
But GameCube has the CUTEST games.

My favorite is Animal Crossing -- it is the sweetest game ever! SOOO cool -- my entire family was addicted to it for a year.
