I used to spend summers at a bungalow colony which was within walking distance of the event, but I didn't get to go because my mommy decided I couldn't go after she heard about the hippies bathing naked in the mud. I heard some of the music as it floated over the mountains. I have a distinct memory of Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner.
