I've been a member for over a year but have never posted a thread.

Thought I'd finally do it to celebrate my 500th post.

Just wanted to say how much I love DU and the folks here. We've been through some awful,awful times and I know comming to DU has helped me get through many dispairing moments.

Also, you can't beat the humor and wit here.

Are you from Montana? I'd really like to get up that way. one of about 8-10 states I haven't been in.

darkstar:I use montana because I'm a huge Joe Montana fan. I'm from S.F. Bay Area. I even named one of my cockatiels montana.lol.
Most the time you have to add some thing because montana is almost always taken so I just added hazeleyes.

Welcome to DU, MH! So are you from Montana? My whole family is from up there - immediate family is in Bozeman - they're all hardcore Rush and O'Reilly fans :puke: - - makes it hard to be around them, especially in the last year with the politically-charged (and polarizing) environment we're living in.

Luckily my husband's family is pretty apolitical so there's no drama there :-)
