I have a halfway absinthe buzz going

I had a double absinthe after dinner (as an aperitif, of course) with an old buddy who came over for a barbecue tonight. He hadn't had it before , so I "relented"...I'm still feeling like I'm in 3 1/2d...weird
Is it typical to last a few hours? Absinthians, discuss!

I can only explain the experience as being able to see in 3 1/2 dimensions. You won't understand it until you try it.

Here's the deal: Absinthe cannot be SOLD in the US. It can be IMPORTED, because ownership isn't illegal (a la marijuana or cocaine), just sales. So...
What you do is go to one of the distributors in the feeverte page, and buy from them, since they are outside the US. They ship to you, and you can receive it because there's no laws broken.

Thujone, a wormwood derivative. Entirely different that opium. As a matter of fact, absinthe is where the idea of drinking "for medicinal purposes" (wink wink) came from, because it wasd originally a medicine for getting rid of parasites.
