Poll question: Greatest R&B ballad, 1980-1984?
Edited on Sun Jun-13-04 09:47 PM by NightTrain
Thought this would make an interesting "sister" poll. :)

ON EDIT: Added Smokey Robinson's "Being With You."

1. Put Marvin in the mix and he'll take it every time. The only guy that can
come close is Smokey Robinson.

2. 4 Outstanding songs there
"Just the Two of Us", "Shining Star", and especially "Sexual Healing" could have all gotten my vote on a different night. But "How 'Bout Us" was one of the first 45's I ever bought with my own money, and I still love it to this day.

4. I share your opinion of "How 'Bout Us?"
Such a beautiful, and shamelessly romantic, little tune. God, I love it so!

"Just Once" James Ingram 1981.

I did my best
But I guess my best wasn't good enough

6. Forgot about that one!
I do remember it from '81, though. Nice record!

8. Keith Sweat or Guy?
Anything off of their debut albums, but I am not sure of the year. Wish I could get your station down here, because those sings definitely bring back memories.
What about Moments of Love?
