I just learned that dogs DO have a language. Mine just said....
"FUCK YOU!"

I was sleeping and Heidi wanted to go out so I got up, got dressed and left the bedroom. Didn't realize that it was storming outside AGAIN until I left the bedroom (fan going, coudln't hear anything). Got out on the porch and opened the door. Bailey, Misty and Heidi all looked at me and said, "Fuck you," and walked back into the house. 2 of them even peed in the house.

I can understand it, though. As hard as it's raining outside there is no way in hell that I would have gone out there, either.

1. I know what you mean
Misty constantly got me up at exactly 2 AM to go outside, but if it was raining or snowing, she'd look at me like "You expect me to go out in that crap?"

2. Well there are ways that cats are unmeasurably better . . .
they say "fuck you" about other things than going outside to relieve themselves.

3. THIS is proof of why cats are smarter than dogs
They learn how to use a litter box so they don't have to wake up owners at 2 in the morning so they can be let outside to go to the bathroom in the nastiest of weather.

6. That is just not true!
First off it would have to be a sandbox to fit Misty so it wouldn't work anyway.

Secondly my cats still find reasons to wake me up even if it's because of thunder.

They are no smarter than my dogs and I can prove it.

They all love me.

8. wrong, they just like to stink up the house on a regular basis
like radwriter said, dogs are just polite. My pups have never done it in the house and they're a couple of poorly trained chuckleheads.

4. OK, I swear this is a true story.
Last Friday, Wrigley had a vet appointment to get his annual shots. He did not want to go of course (smart cat!). I was struggling to get him into the carrier and he was crying and protesting. I swear I heard him say: Let me go! I was so stunned I nearly dropped him.

BTW, the vet said he is beautiful (I knew that) and that he is fat. Wrigley fat? I told her she should see his bro Sam. Wrigley is a svelte 17# -- Sam is a whopping 25#. When I get back from Alaska in July it's diet time for the kitties. God help me!
