Whatever happened to the "flash mob" phenomenon?
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 01:58 PM by darkstar
Seemed for a while it was going to take of a larger pop culture thing than it did. Most I read about were more performance art oriented, but I always thought the whole model could be applyed very effectively to protest/civil disobedience sorts of efforts.

3. I think it died once Avril Lavigne used it to sell her album...
She's so radical. How can "the system" contain such a radical individual?

4. Thankfully, it died a quick death.
I can't imagine a bunch of people patting themselves on the back after doing something so stupid and useless. It's just a shame that when jerkoffs group together like that, the ceiling usually doesn't collapse.

5. I'm Glad the Flash Mob Fad Fizzled
I always suspected that sometime, somewhere, a flash mob would cause a panic that escalated to a riot. This would provide a convenient excuse for cracking down on internet access in some way.
