Our medical system is total bull patty byproduct!!!
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 06:15 PM by HypnoToad
I go in, first for the eczema problem that keeps causing pus pockets to form and burst. I've nearly had blood poisoning before because of them. Well, this Doc didn't seem to think the big painful one was of any concern (nor did he want to see the other one on my lower thigh), apart from a heat pack... (Well, guessing by the other 80 times I've dealt with this shit, this is not just an "inflammation" but an actual infection forming. I've had a mild fever for 3 days straight now and I've been feeling, albeit very slightly, woozy. Not even an antibiotic?! (I didn't think of the antibiotic possibility until long after I left. I'm slow witted anyway, so I won't care.)

So I'm going to try to lance the bugger myself, something I've been able to do with all but 2 of these things in the past, so wish me luck - it's deeply embedded and hot and painful to even touch the surface of the skin...

As for the spasm problem? Oh, well, that's just stress. Even with the medication that coincided with the start of it, he just said "There's no known neurological condition". Bull shit. Lou Gehrig's disease, MS, tardive diskenesia are three even I can think of. But it's just stress, whee. (Now he may be proper in his diagnosis here and I'm just in a manic frenzy of unsavory emotion, but how about the occasional slurred speech I have? And fatigue? And losing my train of thought - often...)

Now I know how my mom feels, nobody takes her seriously and she's often right.

If it weren't for the fact I'm going to be able to afford a new digital SLR camera by Friday, I'd likely let the cellulitis run its course, give me blood poisoning, so I can be free of this nasty world. They're all overpaid quacks anyway and I'd rather live with the stress than waste gas and miles and time to see the bastard who was utterly and wrongfully rude to me because he never kept proper notes nor listened to me, the old fucker... x(

THIS is why insurance costs so much: The quacks get paid too much and dismiss too many people. While some people abuse the system, that's the lesser problem right now as far as I care.

:argh:

Thanks for reading. :-)

1. Can you find another doctor?
That's what I've had to do. I refuse to pay my hard-earned money to Doctor's who don't listen to me. Yes, I have insurance but I'm paying for my insurance monthly and they pay the Doctors I see.

Too many Doctor's overbook appointments to where they don't have time to spend with you or they think they're little gods who shouldn't be questioned. I don't and won't deal with those types. If I had done that back when my neck problem first acted up, I'd be paralyzed now.

2. Jesus, you still have that?

DO NOT lance it!

You could get a really serious systemic infection.

Find another doctor. I remember you posting about this, like , a year ago?

PS Why should you die because of some stupid doctor? Don't you want to be here for the massive liberal celebration when we throw Monkey Boy out of the WH?

4. A year ago was a different cause, it formed on its own. And I will see...
Ever since the eczema got bad, I've had recurring cases clearly brought about by scratching it.

The first dermo, in retrospect, was spot on - just too far away.

The second one wouldn't listen and pushed me along. She was closer, but still a distance away, fortunately.

I will be seeing another Dermo. This one hasn't any openings until late September, but I'll keep pestering the mainstream Docs until I get a referral or if they decide to get their heads out of their soft parts and do a proper examination. Admittedly, both dermos have tried LOTS of things and nothing has helped. So I can say that I'm a difficult case in regards to the eczema's staying power is.

I will NOT lance it, but keep a very close eye on things.

I will not die. I'm just angry and confused and frustrated right now.

8. Have you been allergy tested?
In about 10% of cases, allergies can aggravate/increase eczema, be they environmental or food allergies (especially milk, soy, eggs, and wheat).

It might be worth looking into.

3. Get thee to a university teaching hospital!

Your problem is that you keep running into QUACKS who never seem to bother finding out the WHY of your problem! Demand a referral, or self-refer!

6. I agree
I used to have a skin condition where I reacted adversly to the cold. Every time my skin got cold I would break out in hives. It was posssible in the winter time that my throat could have swollen shut because of this if it were cold enough. Anyway, my family doctor had never seen anything like it and didn't know what it was. We were fortunate that he admitted this and he sent me to a university clinic to have it checked out. They tested me and got down to the bottom of what the problem was. You should definitely be seeing a specialist for this, Hypnotoad. I think there is probably a way to treat this condition. Don't let a bad doctor stop you from getting the treatment you need.

5. Time to change docs.
Like any profession, there are good and bad. No need to overgeneralize and pounce on them all because you've found one, or even a few, bad ones.

7. HT, Please find another Doc!
It's not right that you go to him and he dismisses your situation. I agree about the teaching hospital. They may be big and a tad impersonal, but hell there's a more than superb chance you'll run into someone who knows what they're talking about and can do something for you.
