You'd think that people would've had enough of silly love songs...
... but apparently they're still as popular as ever. So, what's your favorite love song?

Mine is "Come What May"... from Moulin Rouge. I have to concentrate hard on not shedding a tear whenever I hear it. I just love it!

1. Etta James - "At Last"
That's my favorite.

Also have a soft spot for Johnny Mathis "Chances Are" and Tony Bennett "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". :hi: ;)

3. Did You Enjoy Cyndi Lauper's Version Of "At Last"?
I like Etta's better... but I was really surprised by Cyndi's version too.

that I really liked but I can't think of it. Cyndi's best is "I Drove All Night"...another good love song.

6. "Unforgettable"
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 11:49 PM by CO Liberal
The Nat/Natalie duet was the first song the lovely Mrs. CO Liberal and I danced to in October of 1991. But I Like Nat's original version better.

ON EDIT - Mrs. CO Liberal's favorite is "Something" by The Beatles.

7. Muskrat Love.
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 11:49 PM by Reciprocity
Now what could be sillier than that?
Written by Willis Alan Ramsey
Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin' the town and doin' it right
In the evenin'
It's pretty pleasin'

Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
And they shimmy
And Sammy's so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jingin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

8. I couldn't pick just one
so for purposes of this thread, I will pick a favorite from a film, by an artist I don't particularly like.

:P

Take A Look At Me Now - Phil Collins - from Against All Odds.

I had such a crush on Rachel Ward through most of the 80s!

12. um
no? I picked something different, but your eyes read that one.

I dunno, it was just a song that popped into my head when I read the question. And I did give it several qualifiers to explain why I didn't pick something else.

11. Kayleigh - Marillion
Do you remember chalk hearts melting on a playground wall
Do you remember dawn escapes from moon washed college halls
Do you remember the cherry blossom in the market square
Do you remember I thought it was confetti in our hair
By the way didn't I break your heart?
Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart
So sorry, I never meant to break your heart
But you broke mine
Kayleigh is it too late to say I'm sorry?
And Kayleigh could we get it together again?
I just can't go on pretending that it came to a natural end
Kayleigh, oh I never thought I'd miss you
And Kayleigh I thought that we'd always be friends
We said our love would last forever
So how did it come to this bitter end?

Do you remember barefoot on the lawn with shooting stars
Do you remember loving on the floor in Belsize Park
Do you remember dancing in stilettoes in the snow
Do you remember you never understood I had to go
By the way, didn't I break your heart
Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart
So sorry, I never meant to break your heart
But you broke mine

Kayleigh I just wanna say I'm sorry
But Kayleigh I'm too scared to pick up the phone
To hear you've found another lover to patch up our broken home
Kayleigh I'm still trying to write that love song
Kayleigh it's more important to me now you're gone
Maybe it will prove that we were right
Or ever prove that I was wrong
