A friend of mine was killed Friday night....................
in a motorcycle accident. He was 49 years old and lost control of the bike in a curve. Heading to the wake in a few minutes and it's going to be rough, especially seeing his wife and kids.
Sometimes things don't make any sense at all.

6. So sorry. Damn... Be as strong as you can be for the family...
...They really need that now. Having said that, "being strong" where I'm from means not showing emotion, and I've come to realize that that's not right. Showing emotion is natural and healthy.

A few years back, I lost a close friend in a car accident. On top of that, another close friend was driving when it happened. How senseless these terrible accidents seem. Yet they happen every day. My point? Shit, I don't have one. I'm just remembering.

My best wishes to you, friend.

8. Yes, they don't. Friend of ours on a motorcycle hit a deer and
is quadreplegic, brain-damaged, and has been helpless in a nursing home for over 10 years.

Talk about not making sense.

14. Thank you all.
The death of someone close is never an easy thing to deal with. The family appears to be holding up well under the circumstance. I'm sure his wife is still in shock.
I guess all you can really do is let them know that you are there for them. His wife asked me to take the kids fishing so that is first on the agenda.

Thanks again.
