3. I voted OTHER
Vodka is grain alcohol. We drink it to get drunk, and fast. Pretending that vodkas are different is effete snobbery. It's a Yuppie conceit. It is, in short, REPUBLICAN.

Democrats are supposed to be wine snobs.

17. Wine We Drink To Get Drunk, And Fast!
If You're Saying There Is No Difference Between Grey Goose And Albertson's Charcoal Filtered Vodka, You're Sorely Mistaken.

4. Zubrowka

AKA Grasovka

Or Danzka.

Of course there are quite a lot spirits that would be called "vodka" in the US, Nordhäuser Doppelkorn for example - I can't really comment on the quality, as I usually pick low-volume poisons.

a consistant basis I have to go with Yuri Dolgoruki and Jewel of Russia. Kremlyskaya and Red Army are pretty good as well.

12. wow
how so? I think Grey Goose is incredibly smooth and tasty. Stoli is good, but I don't "get" the attraction.

22. grey goose tastes like bad cough syrup to me
I think stoli has the best flavor

I once did a blind vodka tasting and stoli came out on top for me. I had always preferred it, but that was the kicker for me. I can sip it. Mix it. Shoot it. And I still love it.

13. Skyy Vodka
Smooth as a baby's bottom ... not that you would want to drink anything remotely related to a baby's bottom, but you know what I mean. :)

Beside that, Stoli is good too, and Absolut Currant and Peppar.

I'm a Ketel One guy, myself. But I'll drink Grey Goose if nothing else is around. ;)

18. Ketel's my backup
it's a lot cheaper than Grey Goose, but it's very drinkable. Given unlimited funds, though, I choose the Goose.

23. Is there a difference?
I'll admit, I'm new to the whole vodka thing, but I can't tell any difference, so I just get whatever's cheapest. I drink mine with seltzer water.

24. I read a great story in Granta
about vodka. It told about how it's supposed to be drunk (author's Russian). He marveled (that's being nice) how Americans (esp in movies) drink it with stuff and out of the bottle. Essentially, vodka must only be drunk in a glass, with nothing else in it and quickly (shot). Great story, look it up when you have a chance.

27. Popov. Clean & neutral - a perfect combo IMO. Also inexpensive.
I have a bottle of Luksusova (sp?) in my freezer for about 10 years (through two moves!). Great for shots.
