I think it was the NLCS. Someone began gloating when their team had a five run lead, and they blew it? A classic DU moment.

25. Ok I've been holding this back fellow Pistons fans
I and I alone claim responsibility for this Championship victory.
How can I make that claim you ask? SIMPLE!

I realized (an epiphany actually) after game three of the Nets series that I had been jinxing our team all along and decided that evening that my not watching the games was our only hope to win it all.

I have not seen a game since.

You guys owe me one-

Mr. Ben Wallace, I want an autographed jersey.

Joe D- I only ask for courtside tix for next season. (not for me of course but for uhm, my lady friends)

27. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions

29. FEAR THE FRO!
Here are some interesting facts:

Coach Larry Brown is the first skipper to win championships in the NCAA and NBA.

Coach Brown is the oldest person ever to win a NBA championship.

Team owner Bill Davidson also owns the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning and the WNBA champion Detroit Shock. I guess my incessant bitching about owners having teams in more than one sport (mostly directed at Mike Illitch) will have a rest tonight.

Bill Laimbeer, the former Piston big guy from the “Bad Boys” days, is the coach of the Detroit Shock.

This is the Pistons third championship—the first in 14 years. They won it with heart and defense. Let me repeat myself: They won it with heart and defense, pure and simple.

Shaq has got to be the worst superstar free throw shooter I have ever seen. (Sorry, my niece shot 78% the line in college. But then again, I think the women are purer shooters anyway.)

Finally, I did not expect such a blowout in the last game. Someone on another board was right when he said we should watch the Lakers being scattered in the wind after it’s all over.

I am hoisting a Guinness lads and lassies. Nuff said.

Peace, out.

Is Wilmer Jones-Ham, the mayor of Saginaw. Needless to say, she's very proud of her little boy tonight. She also had a heart attack about two weeks ago (she's home now and doing fine), so we're happy for her for a couple of reasons.

38. As a Portland Trailblazer fan, I am happy
for Rasheed Wallace. He was nothing but a problem child
for his entire stay here, so I'm glad he found a team that
suited his personality and was a fit for his considerable
basketball skills. He had just what they needed.

Good on him, and the whole Piston team. Plus they beat
the hated, hated, hated Lakers. (I hate the Lakers almost
as much as I hate the Yankees.)
