What movie have you watched far too much?
I have a couple, The Big Lebowski, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Fight Club being the major offenders.

Do you start quoting movies without thinking about it in everyday life?

61. The Bakshi Lord of the Rings - Part One
Every time I get creeped out by the Jackson movies (which I am not a fan of), I go and watch the Bakshi film, which I think is an UTTER MASTERPIECE. Everyone else on the planet disagrees with me, though.

The first time I saw it on the big screen (actually big wall, projected from an LCD projector) I fell in love with it all over again. Brilliant filmmaking, phenominal score, beautiful animation (stupid looking balrog).

Sorry Jackson! You're a hack!

P.S. Just got my DVD copy of Wizards with a director's commentary yesterday! W00t!!!

Any hints?

64. I've seen the 1940 version of P&P more than any human should.
During some rough times I've watched that video to unwind and gain some optimism. I can still hear Edna May Oliver's voice in my head:

"Everyone seems to be thanking me today. I'm not accustomed to so much gratitude."

Or words to that effect.

Naturally, I've also seen the A&E version, so don't flame me, Colin Firth fans. :-)

I've also seen To Have and Have Not, Casablanca, Persuasion (1995 version), Young Frankenstein, Sense & Sensibility (1995), The Ref, The Tall Guy, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, Much Ado About Nothing and Cold Comfort Farm an appalling number of times.

And yes, I quote movies without thinking about it (it helps if you hang out with the right people). I'll even do the Teri Garr "Roll, roll, roll in the hay" song from YF.

55. Clue....
But not by my own design...this was my sister's favorite movie. For THREE YEARS whenever we rented a movie, she got it. She can still recite dialogue. I just bought her the DVD after watching her warped beyond all recognition VHS tape.

For myself, I have seen Happy Gilmore enough that I have warped at least 2 VHS tapes!

106. I thought so, too
Maybe not my all-time favorite, but surprisingly good.

I don't usually like "chick flicks" or movies for the teenybopper crowd, but Princess Bride has a universal quality to it. The acting was great, the premise was old but venerable, and the execution was far above what I've come to expect from teen flicks.

I also have to admit to being a fan of Heather Matarazzo, who played Lily, the Plain-Looking Best Friend. It's not a screen crush -- she's a fantastic actor. (Now, in a couple of years, it may be a screen crush :) ) She was also in Welcome to the Dollhouse and Sorority Girls. (Feel free to miss the second one.)

It's kinda fun to watch with people who haven't seen it yet, and then when things start to go down hill you can see it in their eyes (the viewers) that they think things have finally hit rock bottom. You just have to lean back, hold your breath and watch as the floor drops out and things get worse than you could ever imagine.

It's probably one of the worst movies ever made, but they seem to play it on cable over and over.

I can only watch about ten minutes at a time, but there's something about it that at least sucks me in for those ten minutes. It's just sop baaaad that it's good maybe?

With all the ten minutes here and there, I think I've probably seen it all once.

My favorite movie of all time. I can pretty much say the dialogue along with the movie, but I don't, because that would be obnoxious.

And although it's not a movie, The Simpsons is a thing between my brother and I. We are CONSTANTLY quoting it. The way some people quote poetry to comment on something that's happened, we quote the Simpsons. I'm sure it annoys the hell out of everyone around me.

Would be the big offenders I guess. AlthoughI think LOTR:Fellowship of the Ring is on Syndication here on Korean TV cause I seem to have seen it about 472 times in the last 3 months.

There are always movies like that on TV though, where you kind of half-watch it while browsing the web, or if you're wasting a night channel flicking.

But movies that I will never get sick of are the 3 I mentioned (well 4 I guess since I included 2 star wars movies). But a friend and I can basically do all of Trainspotting by heart. Nothing to be proud of I guess..
