60-year-old homeless man found dead behind convenience store
By Mike Baird, Caller-Times / Posted: 11:07 p.m.
June 16, 2004

A 60-year-old homeless man who used a wheelchair was found dead behind a convenience store in the 3200 block of Tiger Lane, and police think the death was accidental.

Jimmy Easley, who was homeless, had a wound on the back of his head, according to police reports.

"It appears he went behind the USA Food Mart to use the bathroom," said Capt. John Moseley, Corpus Christi police investigation’s supervisor.

Investigators suspect Easley stood up, then fell and hit his head, Moseley said. "We’re not treating it as a homicide at this time. It look’s accidental and we’re awaiting medical examiner reports."

Snip

So sad. 60, homeless, pissing behind a building. Why can't we help people have a better life? Based on his age, I wonder if he may have been a Vietnam veteran.

2. That America, "the richest country in the world" has homelessness
is in itself an insult to humanity. This is just a horrendous demonstration of the inhumanity that homelessness represents.
I say "richest country in the world" because our national and personal debt might have already made this a misstament.

3. yeah, he's probably a vet
Vietnam vets have the highest percapita rate of homelessness of any group, although I think the current crop of Iraq vets will probably catch up.

It should be a deep source of shame that the VA has been cut by just about every Congress since 1980. They seem to want to make caring for the shattered human beings damaged by the insanity of war somebody else's problem. I say you broke 'em, you fix 'em!

Shame on the GOP. May Reagan enjoy the hell he made for the homeless. Shame on the old ladies in pants on the Democratic side of the aisle that has gone along with this.

4. This man had no place to live
but yet our president insists on having stages built and red carpets for him wherever he walks. What a Christian!!!
