ROCK 'N' ROLL BIRTHDAYS: June 16th

BOB BOGLE of the Ventures (1937, Portland, OR). The seminal '60s instrumental combo had dozens of hits albums and produced such classic singles as "Walk--Don't Run," "Perfidia," "Lullaby of the Leaves," "Slaughter On 10th Avenue," and "Hawaii 5-0."




LAMONT DOZIER (1942, Detroit). Singer/composer, first recorded on Atco in 1957 with a group called the Romeos; later became 1/3 of Motown's legendary production team, Holland-Dozier-Holland.




EDDIE LEVERT (1942, Canton OH). Lead singer of the legendary soul group the O'Jays, whose run of hits included "Back Stabbers," "Love Train," "For The Love of Money," "I Love Music," and "Use Ta Be My Girl."
