He's stateside for a week from the UK before he heads of for Jordan. We went out to dinner and he just handed down my great great grandfather's antique gold pocket watch.
It doesn't work, but I intend to get it fixed. Has anybody had one of these repaired before?
1. My mom had two of them repaired for my brothers.
One was our grandfather's and one was our great grantfathers. She found a really old watch repair professional (and this was almost 30 years ago). The old gent actually manufactured a couple new peices he needed to make one of them work as there was just no way to get the parts he needed to replace.
Take time and care finding someone right for the job, but have it done, if at all possible. You will have an amazing treasure and you may bring great joy to some worthy artisian!
I've never had one of those repaired before, but my guess would be that there are people who specialize in that kind of thing. Just do some calling from your local yellow pages. I'll bet if you call someone who can't do it they'll refer you to someone who can.
