I Watched, Quite Possibly, The WORST Movie Ever Made Last Night
Starship Troopers 2

My lord, was this an awful waste of 90 minutes of my life.

First off, if you've seen the first one, you'll know that it was a spoof and campy send-up of science fiction/action movies.

This one isn't. This one takes itself seriously. All of the humor that was in the first one is gone from this one. They don't even make an attempt to be funny.

The next problem is the sound. Apparently the director wanted to convey how many of the bugs were outside of this compound that the soldiers were holed up in by drowning the movie in screeching bug sounds.

So much so that during the 'outdoor' scenes you can't here a damn word of actual dialog.

Not that it mattered, whenever you could hear dialog it was complete nonsense.

The special effects were also lame. I'm actually convinced they just reused the footage of the bugs from the first movie.

There was nothing enjoyable about this steaming pile of turdy badness.

I urge you all to avoid it at all costs - either that or buy it and send it to a Republican friend of yours.

2. I was told that the first was based on a "Sci -Fi classic"
If there is such a thing. The first one was midlessly stupid. I saw that for some reason they made a sequel when I was at the video store this weekend, never ever considered it seriously.

8. oh come on! the first one was hilarious
doogie howser as the gestapo chief?
the whole movie was about sex...catching the enormous vagina/brain bug at the end?
the fox style propoganda clips?
the mormon fundamentalists at camp joe smith (loved the angel statue on the bubble - details like that were through the whole film)?
the way there is a slow realization by the end of the movie that humans are the evil invading colonists and the iraqis, sorry bugs, are just defending their homes from us?

But the cast sounded strange, as well as the zero media echo. So I let myself being deterred by the €22 price-tag. Guess I was lucky.

9. Bad Movie?
Try Legion of the Dead.

BAD. Really bad.

Think a really bad attempt at remaking From Dusk til Dawn and you'll have the right idea.

10. I liked the first Starship Troopers!
It was a bizarre clash between campy 90210-type acting and a horror movie gorefest. It also tells a pretty revealing message about the nature of war and blind patriotism.

Direct-to-DVD films are usually never any good.

13. No, the worst movie ever made is...
The Doom Generation, directed by Greg Araki

Worst Sci-Fi has to be Saturn 3, with Farrah Fawcett and Lloyd Bridges (naked!!).

And, Loonman, why don't you have "Three imaginary Boys" in your sif images?
