Huge sigh of relief
I'm feeling so much better today. I didn't say anything before because I didn't want to jinx it but my daddy's hernia surgery went fine yesterday. :)

I know...it's just hernia surgery. No big deal. But it is a big deal after what happened with my daddy back in January of 2003.

Many of you have already heard the story of how my dad was diagnosed with an abdominal aneurism. They were testing one of the sonogram machines at the hospital where he works to make sure it was properly calibrated after it had undergone some repairs. Dad volunteered and they happened to do an abdominal sono and found the aneurism. Then there was emergency surgery and he ended up being fine. (If they hadn't found the aneurism and it had ruptured - 15% chance of surviving.)

Anyway, any surgery on daddy wigs me out a bit. I'm feeling ok now that it's over. I'm sure I'll be better later on this morning after I've had a chance to talk to him. :)

9. I appreciate the thought...
and I'm sure daddy will too.

But relaxing. I don't think so. I'm headed to the Texas State Democratic convention in about 3 hours. Lots of fun. But probably not relaxing. :)

10. Thank you
I love my fellow DUers. Y'all are all so sweet.

And I know it's gonna amuse and touch my daddy that people he's never even met are wishing him well.

15. Fantastic news!
Parents can sure be a worry, can't they? My Dad has gone through a couple operations over the years and I worry sick every time. It's such a relief when you hear he's in recovery and doing fine. Thumbs up to your Dad!

18. Fantastic Velma.
I'm glad his surgery went well. I had hernia surgery in 1985. He's gonna be sore for a few weeks.

21. Yup
That's what the doc said. No heavy lifting for about 3 months. Daddy, of course, is worried about when he can get back to golfing. :)
