Did I do a bad thing?

This morning I was looking at the control panel for our website and kept seeing this 'refer' URL that I had no idea what it was so I clicked it. Went to some 'blog' site. Didn't see anything in there about hh-gifts so I went on and continued looking through the list. It came up again so I went back. This time I figure it out. This person had linked a picture from our website and was using it as the background on his blog!

I went and changed the name of the file and now his blog is white text on a white background.

Was that bad of me?

He was stealing your bandwidth! I know on my website if I go over my monthly allotment it cost me money. I assume it would be the same for you.

A similar thing happened on eBay. A seller didn't get permission from one site's owner and the owner substituted graphics of a "different" content.

It wasn't bad unless you did something similar.

I like the Eagle you put up - nice pic. Though the white background is more clever. Maybe change the image every day. :-)

What would be cool is if you wrote a script that, when it detects HIS IP grabbing the page, it feeds him the original image, but for everyone else, they see a rotating cornocopia of images.

on edit: checked out the blog... now that I know he's a leet writer, I would put up something that renders his site even more illegible.
