1. Old style punk rock....
3 chords, snotty vocals, juvenille lyrics. Not as rockabilly as the cramps. In fact not rockabilly at all.

They are one of those bands that were great when the listener is 13 or 14 and the guys in the band are in their 20's. But when you are in your mid 30's and the guys in the band are in their mid 40's....maybe not so much.

CJs just covered it.

4. Early L.A. hardcore

Not similar to the Cramps at all - while the Cramps have a much more homage-based, old R&B at Halloween vibe, the CJs are straight ahead loud angry punk, tempered with an admirably sick sense of humor.

I saw them in '87, and it was OK - they were never really any great shakes. Their singer, Keith Morris, was the original singer for Black Flag, and the CJs frankly pale in comparison. Which isn't to say they're bad or anything, they just never transcended punk the way Flag and most of the other SST bands did.

Edit: spelling

5. No freakin' old school punk or postpunk -- Hardcore punk is the term
Circle Jerks -- World up my Ass

That is my fav song download Limewire and download some songs.

Old school punk = Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Ramones, and Richard Hell and the Voidods for examples

They are in the same musical school and era of bands like:

Dead Kennedys
Suicidal Tendencies
Angry Samoans
Black Flag
Fear
and basically any other band that played on the Repo Man soundtrack.

There was a time when they were one of my favorite bands. I'm surprised they are still alive.

9. "Oh I'm never bored..
when I'm a-killin' for the Lord..."

I still love the Circle Jerks. Yeah, they're a bit simplistic compared to some, but they were one of my first punk loves. :loveya:
