Isn't he romantic....
I was listening to Streisand's 'Duets' CD today and my husband walked in while 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers' was playing. I told him "You don't bring me flowers anymore" and he said "Never did". Which is true. He then left for the local cantina to do an interview.

When he returned he had a box of wine and 2 plastic daisies which he thrust at me and said "There, I brought you flowers".

Now, how romantic is that....a box of wine and plastic flowers?

1. Well...it's something...
Myself, I give the Prophetess flowers a lot. She likes them, so I like to see her get them.

2. I have a story about a boyfriend and flowers
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 06:23 PM by Beaverhausen
When my once and future boyfriend and I started going out he brought me flowers. I have two cats who eat any plant matter that comes into the house so I dont' keep plants or flowers.

But I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I kept them in the house. My dumb but lovable Carmine chewed on them all night long and got very sick. I didn't notice how sick until the next afternoon.

They were lilies and are toxic to cats. I had to put Carmine to sleep 2 days later.

Sad but true...so you might be glad he hasn't brought you flowers.

4. Well, we don't have pets....
and I wasn't planning on eating the flowers, so that is a moot point.
Sorry about your cat, tho, that must have been rough.

But, there is an elderly gent down the street who has a couple rows of plastic daisies in his yard that he waters daily. I asked hubby where he got the flowers and he gave me that look that says 'guilty'. I made him take the flowers back and put them back in that mans yard.

Even if his taste is a bit wonk.

It’s a little vigil I’m holding folks, nothing to see here. Move along.

7. Excuse me!!!
His taste is a bit wonk....he picked me, didn't he? :D

Seriously, my hubby and I have this bizarro relationship and he knew I would see the humor in this....and I did. I'm just trying to think of a good come-back for him.

6. Plastic lasts forever.
Dunno. Men are weird. They also never seem to genuinely smile in photographs despite their women companions looking genuinely happy.

8. Guys Romantic?
Reading the OP, I was going to say cut him some slack. Guys just don't get it sometimes. Seeing some of your responses, I would say build on what you've got and keep the humor coming. Don't be shy about telling him what you want and what rubs you the wrong way. After having my wife of 29 yrs tell me what she wanted in life didn't involve me, I'd like to see people who have a good relationship keep it as long as possible.
Getting married can be cheap, divorce never is.

and the dessert. It went well with the boxed wine.

That is a very pretty picture.
