CNBC dumps wrestler

CNBC has dumped professional wrestler John "Bradshaw" Layfield as a financial analyst after he was observed making Nazi gestures during a World Wrestling Entertainment match in Munich.

Layfield, who has written a book on personal finance, had been a CNBC contributor for only three weeks.

"We find his behavior to be offensive, inappropriate and not befitting anyone associated with our network," CNBC spokeswoman Amy Zelvin said.

In a statement, the WWE said it and Layfield "deeply regret" the actions in the ring "and apologize if it has offended or upset our fans. Mr. Layfield has been reprimanded for his actions."

it shouLd be interesting - the show Loves to use reaL Life events/situations Like this in their story Lines. i doubt he'LL apoLogize.. he'LL probabLy do it again.

3. As a WWE fan...
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 07:42 PM by richmwill
I was hoping he'd have been fired from WWE too. He is one of their worst performers, absolutely beyond boring.

As foe what he did, to the person who asked above... Bradshaw is a "heel" ("bad guy"). The WWE held a couple of shows in Germany 2 weeks ago. The "genius" (and, by the way, Republican) Bradshaw, to get his image of a "bad guy" over even further, decided to make nazi salutes and "goose-step" around the ring. Which, besides being beyond-offensive to any average person, is illegal in Germany. He could have been arrested. So, CNBC fired him (he had signed a deal to appear on one of their financial-news shows once a week), and Bradshaw has been crying ever since, wanting people to feel sorry for him. He's been saying "I'm a person playing the role of a bad guy, I was just doing my job".

Moron.
