Why is every overhyped sports hero (R) and every superbabe (D)?
Seriously, look up any over-publicized sports star on www.newsmeat.com (e.g., Karl Malone, Troy Aikman, etc.), and you will see that they donate heavily to the DARK SIDE. Look up any--and I mean ANY--hot woman that you can think of going back 30 years and you will see that they are solidly (with the exception of a very few whackos like Bo Derek) Dem.

(I must admit that there is a wonderful exception in Steelers' Superstar, and my boyhood hero, Franco Harris, who appears to be on the side of the angels!!)

Tonight I looked up Heather Thomas, formerly of ABC's "The Fall Guy" back in the early 80s. This is the way I so fondly remember her:

And here's her political donation resume:

What is with this? This can't be a testosterone-estrogen thing. After all, Tim Robbins, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Paul Newman, Alec Baldwin, John Cusack, and a host of other manly men appear to be on our side as well, so what gives?

1. Troy Aikman is from
an oil town if that explains anything.

2. DAMN! She's nearly bankrolled the DNC!
Never realized she had so much money.

The cool thing is she also donated to Wellstone.

6. Heather Thomas is a Goddess in every sense of the word
Seriously, if they were to start a Heather Thomas religion, I would be a most willing High Priest. She is nigh to perfection.

4. Michael Jordan supported Bill Bradley's campaign
Plenty of athletes, particularly African-Americans in the NBA, support Democrats. It's just the right-wingers who get all the press.

5. Steroids kill brain cells? But seriously...
Maybe team sports encourage group thinking. Democracy encourages *free* thinking. Thus, sports players are scared of being democrats.

Supermodels are free thinkers. Thus, they enjoy democracy. They like to think for themselves.

(end satire)

7. Not all sports are team sports, though
there's golf with the sterotypical but probably real tilt to the repubs, tennis, and the lesser ones such as billiards, poker, etc.

8. It doesn't mean that hot chicks are all liberal and not conservative
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 12:16 AM by Bombtrack
it shows that liberal hot chicks are more likely to donate to political campaigns. Although believe me, I wish liberalism=hotness was always the case.
