Wedding for Chelsea?
(story on departing W.H. French pastry chef)

(snip)

Earlier this week, as the White House unveiled the official portraits of Clinton and his wife, Hillary, their daughter Chelsea took Mesnier aside with a special request.

She asked if he would bake her favorite, a cobbler -- a classic American deep-dish fruit pie covered with a thick top crust of biscuit dough and served hot with whipped cream -- for her wedding.

"She didn't give me a date, but there could be something in the air," Mesnier said in an interview.

(snip)

Since Bush arrived at the White House, Mesnier has made a seven-layer chocolate cake each year for the president's July 6 birthday.

Bush prefers "simple, sturdier things," while his wife, Laura, enjoys desserts that are "more refined," Mesnier said in his small kitchen, where chocolate giraffes were being readied for a state dinner for Kenyan officials.

2. Jesus, She's Rushing Things...
Chelsea, please... you haven't even met me yet! Come on, let's at least have a respectable courting period before we off and get married, all right?

I mean, seriously, we both have images to protect... you, the President of the United States from 2020 to 2028, and me, President of the United States from 2028 to 2036.

Let's just take this slow, okay?

16. Seriously, I Don't Know How She's Lived Without Me
For so long.

And, Chelsea, here's a little FYI for you... When we DO get married, I won't have ANY problem spending time with the in-laws, so don't you worry!

4. ??
She's 24, which is two years older than I am, and I celebrated my 1st anniversary yesterday. Even with a lot of people waiting to marry until they're more established, the average age is still only 25.

5. maybe there lies the reason
every other marriage gets divorced.

Why not live together and check each other out first?

(OK I know the answer already, living in America):)

9. Whoa... Just a minute there.
My parents married at 20 and are still together 27 years later.

And strictly statistically speaking, couples who live together before marriage have a higher divorce rate than those who don't.
