I'M SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF BEING CALLED A RADICAL.
I want civil rights, a sane environmental policy, elections in which all the votes are counted, a living wage (as opposed to a minimum wage), and a government that goes to war only when every non-violent alternative has failed. Goddammit, those are NOT radical demands!

5. In a country whose media is dominated...
... by firms that want exactly the opposite, you are a radical.

Don't worry about it--just keep it up. Being correct on the issues has its advantages, though it often doesn't seem that way.

Especially the living wage. In GD:2004, there was a thread about Kerry wanting to raise mim. wage to $7 but it seems that even with the mim. wage increasing my salary never seems to go up. Why is it that the mim. wage can go up but I stay stuck at the same lousy wage and have to wait a full year before I can get a 1-3% increase. Every time the mim. wage goes up, my pay should go up. I mean, I 'm glad the mim. wage is going up but something more needs to be done about mine (and probably thousands of others) problem.

7. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a "radical."
Thomas Jefferson was a radical. Gandhi was a radical. Mother Teresa was a radical. Robert Kennedy was a radical. John Lennon was a radical. And Jesus was a radical, too. If someone calls you a radical, please take it as a compliment .... even though they may not understand what it is they are actually saying!

8. I've been called worse!
Ya shoulda been around during the Viet Nam era. It horrifies me that today I fight to keep my own son from being sacrificed on behalf of an even deadlier evil than we faced back then. I feel your pain.

12. Then change the language NT.
It's all a matter of changing the language to reflect the reality we want to create.

If Newt could do it, we can too...
