13. I like the camera. Then again it's the only digital I have used.
I'll never get used to the shutter release delay.

15. If you get a chance, try a digital SLR...you'll never go back.
I have a Canon D30 (3 generations old, now). It has a shutter, so there's no delay, but it has all of the advantages of a digital.

I'm strictly an amateur, but it's been great fun.

17. Check out Canon D30s on E-Bay.
It's been a while since I checked, but they were dropping in price as the newer models came out.

Monitor resolution does nothing for photos, but check out www.slantzero.com and click on the "pictures" tab. All the shots except the first few gigs (the first few are at the bottom of the list) were taken with a D30. I have 13x19 prints from Costa Rica that are near photo quality (prints are always better than monitor pics).

You can't go wrong with either Nikon or Canon, but I'm partial to Canon stuff.

23. Then you already have Canon glass!
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 01:29 AM by MercutioATC
The EOS lenses will work on the D30/D60/10D bodies. Earlier lenses will, too, but you'll probably lose the autofocus functions.

A couple of more examples of D30 shots:

30. Actually, lenses hold their value pretty well.
Both of the lenses I bought 2 years ago list for within $20 of what I bought them for.

The bodies depreciate...the lenses don't.
