6. Yes
I admit to also loving KISS Alive! but I know that was sweetened as is rather fake - Leeds, on the other hand, is just amazing on its own.:hi:

9. I agree, it's raw and cheap and rough
and shows all of The Who at their musical peak. Magic Bus Live is still my all time favorite rock song.

There are some killer live tracks on "The Kids are Alright" too, Young Man Blues, See Me Feel Me, and a bunch of other stuff from Monterey pop festival.

2. I'd rather listen to alot of stuff that's older than me like Bach, Robert
Johnson and Dolly Partton than fucking Chingy, but I'll still defend a genre that I love

4. ..Interesting, my 15-year old nephew..

...was asking me about Tom Jones last night!!??

I take it as a sign that the music today is just pretty bad.

13. Evidentally the new "I Robot" movie coming out...

...has a pretty eclectic soundtrack. I think that was the context of our conversation. Personally, I'm glad he's so open minded about music. He even likes Bob Dylan and can name several of his "lesser-known" songs.

and it was wild to see all the Hendrix pix, clothes ( they were something), rings, videos, guitars, etc.

23. Oh yeah...Jimi and Carlos Santana...

I guess he's pretty sophisticated musically for a 15 year old. He's coming to visit me, sometime I think -- so I can further indoctrinate him.

20. Funny you should mention that.
At this very moment, I'm watching "Live at the Ile of Wight" on DVD. Not exactly a technical triumph, but great music. No flashing lights, no explosions, just industrial strength R&R.

24. Live at Leeds is one of the rare live albums
that was worth making. You could never do "Summertime Blues" like that in the studio.

The studio version of "My Generation" doesn't even come close.
