DU Fathers -- plans for Father's Day?
The kids are up to something. Personally, I'd just like to have a quiet day at home with the family -- that would be special!

1. Roses.......
I grow many, many roses .... last year I had over 1000 blooms, in large part because I have a significant collection of old hedge roses... but some of my climbing roses need to be weeded....so while the grill is cooking, I'm hoping the kids will help me work on the roses. I have white, yellow, pink, and red roses blooming right now, including about 150 large red roses on the edge of the lawn facing the road. (One of my friends laughs at me, because 25-30 years ago, I focused my "green thumb" type of talents at growing other things ... I used to show off certain plants with huge flowers .... now I show off the roses!)

8. Post a pic if possible!
I moved into a house with some beautiful antique roses but I let aphids tear them up out of ignorance. Still regret that.

5. I plan to rest. And listen/watch the Cubbies.....
I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled Friday, so I'm still in recovery mode. Although I'm not feeling any pain, I won't be eating steak today.

Mrs. XNASA brought me roses yesterday so that they'll be open today. Other than snacking on soft foods and maybe mixing up some Margaritas later.....I don't plan on doing anything.

As far as spending time with the family......our sons are teens and there's really no keeping them at home...especially with the kind of weather we've been having this weekend. It's been perfect.

So resting.....and a little alone/down time. That's my plan.

7. Must be a daddy thing
Hubby got an eye tooth pulled and now has 6 stitches. So he's going to take it easy today also. However the little family got him some cards and a few movies to add to his DVD collection.
1. Mister Roberts
2. Crocodile Dundee
3. Journey to the Center of the Earth
4. Crocodile Dundee II

Oldest daughter got him a another DVD. Going out to the store to get him some Krispy Cream donuts. Not a bad day for the dad.

9. Cubbies and margaritas -- good combo
My son is the biggest Cubs fan this side of the Great Divide. I'd love to spend Father's Day at Wrigley, one day...
