What a hoot. What a cast (Hopper, Stockwell, Tamblyn, Devo and Young as the "lead."). What insanity. Post-apocalyptic hippie dream with some genuinely funny shit, plus some rocking, some folk and a dance number. Young doing "Hey Hey, My My" with Devo "live" in a studio setting is a jaw dropper. IMO.

1. Is it a new movie?
on vid or DVD. Haven't heard anything about it, but I'm not very up on new movies coming out.

sounds right up my alley. I adore Neil Young.

Appears to only be available on vhs. Made in 82, released on tape in 95. Here's an Amazon link w/ customer opinions, etc.

3. No, but I just finished "Shaky" by Jimmy McDonough.
I've been aware of Neil Young since Buffalo Springfield but not the hugest fan. However, I picked up this biography of Young cheap--thought it looked interesting.

It consists of more than 700 strangely fascinating pages about Young's hugely varied musical career & his other interests. Interviews with Young & many colorful supporting characters add details. Hopper on the 1983 premiere of Human Highway--"I wanted to go but I was in the insane asylum." And the Devo/Young relationship was indeed a strange & wonderful thing. I'm phasing out my VHS collection & would love to see the movie on DVD.

She said you're strange but don't change & I let her.
