9. I believe the release date is September 27.
I myself can't wait either. Curious to see how the song order and list differs from my bootleg.

As I have said on here before, it took me a long time to find his genius. I am so glad I did.

4. Gotta be Brian.
He had the best voice, and he was the group's creative driving force. Shame he had to take such a turn for the worst....

10. He's a right-wing jerk-off
I remember him performing at a GOP fund-raiser back in '88:

"I'm picking up Bush vibrations.
He's the best man to lead our nation."

15. He berated Brian at every opportunity
The Boys all came back from tour, came upon the SMiLE project, and Love had a 'what the fuck is this, write some more hits' approach that was not very helpful. :(

12. Why am I the only Beach Boys fan at DU who ever mentions the early stuff?
Edited on Sun Jun-20-04 03:16 PM by NightTrain
Remember "Surfin' Safari?" "409?" "Surfin' U.S.A.?" "Shut Down?" "Little Deuce Coupe?" "Surfer Girl?" "Be True To Your School?" "In My Room?" "Little Saint Nick?" ""Fun, Fun, Fun?" "I Get Around?" "Don't Worry, Baby?" "When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)?" "Wendy?" "Little Honda?" "Dance, Dance, Dance?" "Do You Wanna Dance?" "Help Me, Rhonda?" "California Girls?" "The Little Girl I Once Knew?" "Barbara Ann?" "Sloop John B?" All great stuff, people.

It wasn't like PET SOUNDS was their freaking debut release! :eyes:

'Let Him Run Wild', 'Kiss Me Baby', 'In the Back of My Mind', 'All Summer Long'--too many to name, really. :)

edit: And I've actually had to chastise you for leaving out some Beach Boys singles in your lists... so you aren't the only one by any means who listens to their early catalogue. :hi:

13. Who the hell voted for wingnut Mike Love?
He's a self-aggrandizing asshole pawn of the Republican party. Don't get me wrong--they were all great singers--but Brian Wilson is, was and always will be the Beach Boys, end of story.
