Strange characters in emails - HELP
A woman I'm sending emails to complains that when they arrive they have strange arrow thingies in them and that when she inserts them they crash her documents. Does anyone know what the problem is???

1. Some suggestions
It's probably a matter of the character set or code page you are using is not the same as the code page she's using.

Possibly it's a matter of using HTML email.

I'd suggest making sure that you're sending email in a "text only" format.

Beyond that I can't help much, as you haven't told me what operating system and email client you're using, or what operating system and email client your correspondent is using, nor have you given an example of the "strange arrow thingies" or the original text that is transformed into those oddities on her system.

2. I send things to her in georgia font, 12 pt
I don't know what she is using. I use Mac OS 10.3. and she uses a mac too. I can't give you an example of the arrow things because I don't get them. I use the mail program in mac and my email carrier is earthlink. Hers is her own.

3. Try asking in a Mac forum
Since I don't use a Mac, beyond once again suggesting you send your email in "plain text" rather than HTML format, I can only suggest asking in a Mac forum.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to specify the sending format in the Mac mail program.

4. Thanks. Now she tells me the problem is with my attached articles.
I send everything to her in pdf format and I can't imagine any machine having trouble opening a pdf -- weird.
