1. A mobile home?
Probably want to take a look at it first...

2. A "large living room" in a 1000 sq. ft. house?

...and look at the picture of the "yard"...

I'm thinking a hut on the rocks...

3. In Mexico there are some laws about foreigners owning property
within a certain distance of a seacoast, I think it's 50 miles but not sure. IMO, if anyone is considering buying property in Mexico, it's a good idea to do some thorough research first.

4. Rosarita sucks....
Trust me, you don't want to live there. There are lots of beautiful places to live in Baja and on the mainland, but Rosarita has become a suburb of Tijuana. Plus, I'll bet that property is on the bare hills east of the highway-- somebody's been laying out subdivisions there for years.

6. We love San Felipe (on the other coast)
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 01:08 AM by SoCalDem
I would move there in a heartbeat, but my husband would NEVER go for it.. I found a wonderful little place in Boquete, Panama, that I would buy in a heartbeat.. (I grew up in Panama).. I guess we are stuck in California, and just will have to hope that we can afford to live here until we croak :(

5. I can see mobile homes working on a lake...
But if there's ever a hurricane, bye bye house.
Here in oklahoma, MHs are very popular as lake houses. That's a given, though. They're cheap, and at the lake, all you need is a place to sleep, cook your meals, and shower. We've actually made inquiries into getting one.
At the ocean, you need a sturdy home if you're going to live on the beach. One that is cemented down, made of something solid. Yeah, that place sells, and it's going to be bulldozed and something better will be built.
