1. Wow -- I'm Seriously Impressed with Ben
you don't do that by being an airhead.

3. No you don't
you can get lucky (in fact you have to in order to win a poker tournament) but it also takes some skill and knowledge.

Good for him.

12. An Airhead May Win an Occasional Hand
but not a whole tournament with hundreds of hands going against against top players.

5. I knew Ben was a big poker fan
so is his lover, I mean, friend Matt Damon. Remember Rounders? After that they got real serious, Matt even played a few tournaments.

6. Yes...
a couple years ago Damon got knocked out of the World Series of Poker by having the misfortune of drawing pocket Kings against Doyle Brunson (who literally wrote the book on no-limit poker) who drew pocket Aces.

7. Thanks for the details
I knew he was in that tournament and lost but didn't know how. I love poker myself. My friends and I use to have a Monday night poker get together and play all different kinds. We would drink some beer and smoke some weed and just have fun. Pots got to a decent amount like 100 dollars or so. Man how I miss those days.

8. Mimi Rogers, James Woods, Gabe Kaplan (Mr. Koter)

and a number of others play, in addition to Ben and Matt.

Also Larry Flynt, who plays in one of the largest "live" (non
tournament) stud games in the world (typically $1500/$3000 blinds
limit stud).

Mimi and James Woods are great because they will travel and play
in tournaments NOT in LA... and don't bring a big entourage or stuff,
and mix with the regular folk. Mimi actually placed in the top 20 of
a WPT event in San Jose earlier this year.

Ben can play... and it DOES take a lot of skill. Some luck, too...
but in a long tournament, luck usually breaks even (very seldom
does someone just run lucky the whole tournament...)

Its' a very hard way to make an easy living.

9. Yes...
I spent a few years supplementing my part-time income playing poker. It's very difficult, but a helluva lot of fun, too. Also the most frustrating way I ever earned a buck.

10. Maybe now he can buy himself a better rug
That's right, rug...

Hunky Ben Affleck flipped his wig at a party recently taking all of his friends (including his new lover) by complete surprise. The Pearl Harbor star was playing around with buddy Vince Vaughn when his hairpiece flew across the room.

11. I play hold 'em with the boys about once a week
And I have for about two years.

Tough fucking game, and much more skill and strategy involved than meets the eye. Congrats to Ben Affleck. I feel good when I win $300 1st place at an 8 person table! (Hell, I feel good when I win the $100 2nd place at an 8 person table!)
