Oil money, and all that implies. But, really, I'm not an asshole, or at least not that big an asshole. I give money to John Kerry and the SPCA and even to PETA sometimes. I drive a Prius. I change my own oil. I was a DU moderator at one time. I love big dog. And 'sides, money ain't everything, although it's better than the alternative.

We're all rich in one way or another. I'd rather be lucky (which I am) or smart (which I ain't) any old day.

We have been married for 30 years. We were dirt poor in the beginning. We did not like that. She got a PhD at Georgia Tech. I finished at Ga. Tech, and got a job flying for an airline.

We lived like monks in the early years, saving money and investing cautiously. In August 2001 I took all of my investments out of the stock market. There were enough warnings out there that I smelled a bad attack that summer. Smart? No. Lucky, yes! The A$hcroft news (no airlines) clinched it for me.

Dr. DemoTex has a consulting firm. She has an office in Chicago, an office in Dallas, and a new office in Greenville, SC. She works 80 hours a week and makes more than I did as an MD-80 captain before I retired.

I have a very handsome retirement and I have a unique buyer for my writing talents.

We own two homes. One in the mountains, and one in downtown Greenville, SC. Yeah, we are rich. So what? You gonna ban me from DU?

BTW: I have a farting problem. But our sheets came from K-Mart.
