5. Was that band associated with Hendrix in anyway?

I could swear it was a Hendrix tune.

6. Alvin Lee of Ten Years After is a SMOKIN' guitarist
Not surprising that you might confuse him with Hendrix.

9. Nope, an awesome British blues rock
They were unfairly overshadowed by The Yardbirds. A great band in their own right. Alvin Lee, the original guitarist and singer, still tours with his own back up band, and the rest of TYA got a new quitarist and they tour as Ten Years After, which pisses off Alvin to no end.

11. I agree but .....
Ric, Leo and Chick wanted to reform the band and get out there again. They invited Alvin and he declined. This article pretty much explains it:

It sounds like Joe Gooch, while not Alvin Lee, is a smokin' guitarist in his own right.

Oddly enough very talented young guitarist from Texas, Vince Converse, recorded an album for Blue Storm Music with Ric and Leo under the band name LLC - Lee, Lyons & Converse. Blue Storm was one the ropes financially by the time it was finished and didn't have the money to market the CD or promote the band.
