'Panther on the Loose' Is a Cat
MARSEILLE, France (Reuters) - The southern French city of Marseille called off a three-week hunt for a black panther on Tuesday after the animal sighted by several residents turned out to be a large house cat.

"The 'panther' is just a black house cat -- a very big one though," said a spokeswoman for the local prefecture, adding the animal was about 24 inches long and weighed some 22 pounds.

Police deployed dozens of searchers this month after reports that a blank panther was roaming around the nearby Calanques area, popular with tourists for its creeks, rocks and beaches.

Searchers finally caught up with the animal and identified it as a cat but were still unable to catch it, the spokeswoman added.

4. When he got affectionate
he would butt his head into you. Dang knuckle head shoved me off my bed once doing that.

Was an idiot savant. Most of the time dumb as a brick. But every once in a while he would freak you out. Example. My brother and I played guitar. Our mother would enforce our practicing for at least one hour. One day the cat walks up to me and starts mewing. I rubbed his head and went about my business. He followed me and continued mewing. So I rubbed him again only he turned and walked away. When I didn't follow he meowed at me quite distinctly as to say get over here. So I followed him. He lead me to my brother who was sitting there reading a magazine and not practicing his guitar. I said "hey aren't you supposed to be practicing" and he grabbed his guitar and started playing again. The cat sat down and stopped meowing.
