Max tested negative for Heart worms!!!
He'll start his heart worm today for protection and so thankful he made it with both procedures, that first round was touch and go, killing the big ones with being a older dog was 50-50 but with alot of caring and loving,he pulled through!!! I love him alot!

He's enjoying being Sass's big brother and the babysitter, she relaxes when he's close by her pen.

Now we celebrate!!! :bounce:

6. Thanks everybody
He's about 10 years...he was a stray that found us after he got hit by a truck, he came limping right in our yard years ago. One of the neighbors had called the Animal Rescue to come out.Well they did and told us they will be putting him down because his medical expense plus not many homes for this type.
After hearing that...I said "Welcome Home Max"...(I had a German shepherd as a child named Max.) He liked it right away and seem to respond real good to it but at this point I think any name could do it.

Well I got him all patched up and had in my house ever since...he just goes out when he needs to do his business. Big Yes, boy does he shed the fur... he loves to be brushed, that's our time together , grooming all the fur away and it's year round in Florida!

It's funny as soon as he felt good tha first week in the house, he got up on my breakfast bar, sitting up with the paws crossed like Clarence the cross-eyed lion.
Yikes, I said..."can't eat any meal while you're there...and talk about feeling at home."

Well I took hold of his collar and he got down, and that was real clumsy for me the size of him. Went out of the room for a sec....he's right back on the bar...YIKES! That last time was tough and one more time again, wow "NO More Max"...well I got him down easier with a gravy chew, that did it...so he's gets one of those a day, his treat. Keep the treats in the cabinet and he hasn't climb up again, cats do enough of that.

Then the best part is...the day he woke me up while a fire was about to start, black smoke going on in my kitchen...where he stays, he's smart, always there in case some goody drops to the floor. Anyway I forgot I had boiling eggs on the stove and having CFS I just dropped off forgetting I put them on.
I'm better avoiding that now...Thanks to Max...he barked and howled til I got up and boy if it wasn't for him,I do know how fortunate for me, My Max came into my life! :-)

3. I'm so glad for you
When I moved in, 15 years ago, Michael had a collie/shepherd mix that he had nursed through heart worms (thankfully, Daisy was just a puppy when she had them). She lived to a ripe old age of 13, so I wish you many happy years with Max.

Good to hear from you, too.
