Not such a beautiful day in our neighborhood

I went outside when I heard the engine. The fire truck was out front and EMS a few houses up the street. It turns out one of my neighbors committed suicide. I didn't know her that well, but she was nice enough and was at the block party we hosted last summer.

It sucks. She wasn't that old, relative to some of our other neighbors anyway. I hate losing neighbors, especially this way...

Did she live alone? Did you know her well?

2. To the best of my knowledge

she lived alone but she had two kids. She was in her 60s I think, and was good friends with a neighbor across the street from us. I didn't know her that well but she was very nice when she was at our party. From what I understand, she ODd on pills and alcohol some time over the past day or so. The neighbor across the street and the deceased neighbor's boyfriend found her when they went in to check on her.

Of course my wife and boys pulled up just as everything was going on. Try explaining this to 8 and 6 year olds...
