I'm a Troll...

I've read, been with, DU for about 2 years but rarely post. I log on every day here at work. Several times I see negative talk about Trollers, I assume I can be considered one.

Try to understand, I'm at work so I don't have much time to post, I don't really want to just make inane posts. Also, I've learned so much from discussion topics here, with links, etc., I don't want to quit trolling!

Anyway, every time I see a negative troll comment I feel guilty. So vote yea or nay for me. Is it OK if I remain mostly a troll?

and its pretty clear you're NOT a troll.

being a troll means you deliberately make posts that will piss people off while you pretend to be something you're not--specifically, pretend to be someone of like mind to the board members, while actually holding antagonistic positions, and getting a thrill out of antagonizing!

Trolls hide under bridges, pretended to be warm and fuzzy, then jumped out and eat unsuspecting victims.

21. The term 'Troll' arises from the phrase 'trolling for a fight'

or trolling for a rise out of folks, - much like a fishing troller goes dragging for fish. They cast a wide, inflammatory statement and wait for the easily baited, more impetuous folk to respond in kind.

If they're ignored or no one rises to the bait, they go away. Thus the phrase "don't feed the trolls."

You've been reading but not posting, - that's in no way the same as trolling. If someone on DU says that you're a troll, hit the 'alert' link in the lower left corner of the post and we'll take care of it.
