I'd send some example designs to a client last week... should I follow up?
Last Monday I sent him the designs as he had a conference from Tuesday thru Friday where he'd show them off.

I haven't heard back since.

Semi-anxious to know if they're going to keep me and to do this work for them, should I follow up?

I did hear he was very busy at the conference and he might still be catching up on other work this week, but I was hoping he'd be able to give me a quick response.

Thx for your input!

1. Follow up!
Hi,

Call him, ask how the conference went etc.

Talk about your designs, don't be shy but don't be too pushy.

Let us know how it went and GOOD LUCK!!!!

Cheers,
Kim

a decision. Do not act anxious - just very professional. If he said he has not, ask when a good time to get back to him would be. If he says he has, ask who - then tell him that you are always available for quality work. Then thank him for his time and for considering you.

3. Of course follow up.
Dial in the right degree of diplomacy. If needed, just ask what his reaction was. You gave a substantial amount of effort, you have a right to feedback. If there is no decision, just say that you will check back (be specific) in a few days.

4. Absolutely do
You are part of the work he has to catch up on - help him out by bringing it to his attention!

6. Rather than appear to be pressuring for an answer

call and ask if he received the materials.

This shows him you're following up attentively and allows him to ask questions and enlarge the discussion without overt pressure from you.

He might not have had time to review and consider the material and might be sensitive to aggressive tactics, even if not so intended.
