I just wonder why the moderating gods that be don't have it.

have travelled through a few forums here and there and there is Nothing ugly about words..... there is Nothing ugly about speaking your thoughts freely and sometimes learning your thought patterns aren't your own but others rote. Every fence, both sides. but to corrall such an important issue.... that really astounds me...

5. This has been my usual home forum on DU and I have made

many friends there, but it can also be very rough. The thing is that this is the most emotionally-charged issue on DU, so this is the only place on DU that Israeli-Palestinian issues can be discussed. And because of the high feelings that run on this issue, that forum is subject to special and more strict rules. Read them carefully, since I have seen more people get banned on this forum than any other. But the discourse here is excellent. There are so many knowledgeable people there, more than any other forum on DU, IMHO; they continue to amaze me with their knowledge of the history of this volatile region and the depth of their knowledge. I have learned so much there and am proud to be accepted there. Just take your time to get used to the stricter format and to learn about the issues. Looking forward to seeing you there. You are very welcome, but I feel like I should warn you as to the tough rules there, just as I was warned by a friend who was eventually banned.:hi:

Very odd that Israel has this blanket of comfort when most of the world doesn't. very. But as I am a newbie, but appreciate your words of DU wisdom and will lurk a bit to acclimatize.

I came on I/P as a kind of mistake. I had my ideas on the subject, but someone sent me a PM that had to have been a mistake, but I got curious and joined in. It can be really daunting, since these people are so well informed. And they have their alliances and feuds, but I found that they have accepted me and educated me and I now feel more comfortable there than on any other forum on DU, except maybe here, where we all let it all hang out. Give it a shot. I will welcome you.:-)

15. It's not that bad, but you just have to be careful

They have very strict rules there, since the topic brings out such strong emotions in so many people. You just have to be careful, and mind your P's and Q's. Join us.:-)
