New Beer: Anheuser World Select.
I picker up a sixer on the way home from work, and I gotta say, it's pretty damn good stuff! It's a nice lager that tastes a bit like Heineken, without the slight skunkiness. I'm usually a lover of dark stouts, and save the yellow beers for lawn mowing-related activities, however I'll give this one a thumbs up. Anyone else tried this?

I think I'll have another.

1. Good but pricey
priced along with the top tier of imports. This may just be Hawai'i economic weirdness, but many imports (New Zealand Steinlager, notably) are cheaper here than World Select.

Where I can see it working is in places too small to even have imports. World Select can go pretty much anywhere Bud goes, which is to say, pretty much anywhere. So if you want good beer, and there's only one little country store around for fifty miles, it'll do nicely.

3. Yup, I've tried it
Not good, barely tolerable and way too expensive (like all beer stateside ;-) ).

The "country list", listig the brewer's nationalities was a good joke though:
"
Ireland, Spain, Italy, Korea, Japan, Canada, China, Argentina, UK and the United States"

Let's see:

Ireland and Pils?
Spain? I'll rather have a Rioja
Italy? Snarf! World-renowned for the worst beer.
Korea ?
Japan? Ok, they did learn it from German Brewers, and some are quite good.
Canada? Oh sure; next please!
China? see Japan
Argentina? I have no idea
UK? Pils? those two don't mix.
Unites States? Really? Who would have thought?
