Farrell's 'Huge' Manhood Cut from Film
http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/#2
Irish heart-throb Colin Farrell's first full frontal movie scene has been cut by worried film bosses - after test audiences were transfixed by the size of his manhood. The Phone Booth hunk disrobed for scenes in upcoming drama A Home at the End of the World, but after seeing the stunned reaction of viewers at a recent screening, chiefs decided to chop the naughty images. And the news has been greeted with fury by self-confessed Romeo Farrell, who has demanded the scenes must be included in the DVD release of the film. A source tells British newspaper the Sun, "All you could hear were gasps when Colin appeared in his full frontal pose. The women were over-excited and the men looked really uncomfortable. It was such a sight it made it difficult to concentrate on the plot, so the decision was made to get rid of it." Even director Michael Mayer admits, "It was distracting." In the film, Farrell plays a bisexual man caught in a love triangle

Damn, now I want to see what this thing looks like!!!

12. Not fair
Sure, society can judge women by all their external parts, but I guess it's too much for men. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I have a lot of respect for men who have the gonads (pardon the pun) to "bare it all" and say "this is me". I think it's pretty cool in fact. :7

LOL! If you're going to have nudity in a film, don't turn around and cry squeamish because you got more than you bargained for. :D

I wish there were more male nudity in film, it's certainly no on par with female nudity. I'm My Wife is an Actress, Charlotte Gainsburg has a wonderful rant about it. "Don't you think the audience wants to see a man too?!"

22. what a friggin double standard
film bosses never seem to have a worry about the size of someone's "womanhood"

<snip>
"The women were over-excited and the men looked really uncomfortable. It was such a sight it made it difficult to concentrate on the plot, so the decision was made to get rid of it."

Funny, film bosses never seem bothered when the men are overexcited and the women are uncomfortable. Never heard about concerns that the *plot* was being neglected (ahem).

23. "The women were over-excited"?
Were they really? Hmmmmmm.....
My impression is, WRT any body feature, some folks like 'em big, some folks like 'em average, some folks like 'em small, some folks don't care. But no, in this case, every woman in the audience was totally horned up because she saw a big wiener. And every man in the audience was totall grossed out for the same reason. What a one-dimensional audience--why use a crowd like this to test screen any movie?

I'll bet Ewan McGregor's is bigger.

See: "Pillow Book."

" ... but when Pillow Book was released in Scotland, McGregor found it necessary to warn his parents that they might want to leave their friends behind. It prompted a post-viewing fax from his father who wrote: "I'm glad to see you've inherited one of my major assets." "

46. Oh for the love of pete!
Jeebus. I want to live in a country populated by adults, not these repressed Puritanical insecure frigging BABIES. What a bunch of shit. How often do you see full frontal female nudity in an R-rated film? Damn near every one, that's how often. I've seen full frontal female on frigging HBO, for gawdssakes. What nonsense. Is a man's unit inherently more "private" than a woman's pubis or breasts? Why in hell are we still so frigging scared of nudity?

This country makes me so angry sometimes. First the tempest in a teapot over a bared boobie on TV (shock! horror! women have BREASTS! not just cleavage!), now they're cutting scenes of penises from movies intended for mature audiences, because they might "distract" people. Good heavens.

I suppose it'd be okay if he attached a prosthesis, aka Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights - then the pasty pudgy male producers wouldn't suffer from penis envy and "discomfort" at the sight of a perfectly normal penis.

GAWD.

51. actually
I thought the Boogie Nights penis was digitally enhanced, not prosthetic? Either way...

I started a thread way back on old DU about this. Why are Americans relatively okay with full frontal nudity from female celebs, but full frontal from male celebs makes them go all wiggly?

I'm afraid it's because American men, for the most part, are still raised in the Cult of the Penis. Shame, really.
