Poll question: For Mick Fleetwood's birthday: FAVORITE FLEETWOOD MAC TUNE?
Since they were so prolific, I limited the poll to Fleetwood Mac's biggest chart singles--but even at that, I had to leave some tunes out. For good measure, I also included each song's Billboard chart peak.

2. My Favorite Fleetwood Mac Song Goes Back a Bit Further
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 07:53 PM by Labor_Ready
than those on your list: 'Oh Well,' 1969 :headbang:
Among those on your list, I'd choose 'Rhiannon.'

9. "Oh Well" is a great choice
Wish it was on the list.

I'd also submit "The Chain" for consideration.

16. I Would Have Chosen 'The Chain'
over 'Rhiannon,' among songs from the Stevie Nicks years.

3. I have a funny story that involves "Tusk"
Once when I was in Junior High a friend and I were going through his parents porno movies. All of the movies in the box were in the original sleeves and we would "OOoooo" in schoolboy pleasure at reading the titles. We noticed one in the back of the box that was in an unmarked box and we said "Man, this must be some hard core shit if there isn't a title" so we threw in in the VCR.

The scene started out with a grainy shot of a window and the song "Tusk" playing in the background. The camera panned out to show my friends mom working herself over. My friend puked and I laughed.

About a week later I guess my friend's Dad noticed that his pornos had been moved and questioned my friend about it. He said that he had looked at them which then inspired his Dad to give him "the talk".

Every time my friend hears that song, he gets sick to his stomach. It was really funny when I had the DJ play it at his wedding.

7. So hard to pick just one!
Anything by Stevie works for me. I think Silver Springs and Gold Dust Woman are my favorites (today).

12. "Hypnotized" was one of my favorites in college. That and
"Future Games." We used to play those albums all the time.

15. I was looking for 'Manalishi,' as well!
Have you heard Judas Priest's cover of it? I used to love freaking out heavy metal fans by telling them Judas Priest had covered both Fleetwood Mac and Joan Baez (they did a cover of 'Diamonds And Rust'). I also like 'Oh Well.'

18. Yes, I have heard Priest's cover of it.
And I'm sure most of their fans would have no idea it's a Fleetwood Mac song. Of course the old Fleetwood Mac was a totally different band than the Mac that most people know (and love or hate). :-)

17. "Morning Rain"
The REAL Fleetwood Mac ceased to exist the minute the vapid Stevie Nicks joined.

Bleah.
